Paris in the 20's

"To be in Paris in the 20's is to be there forever, because Paris is a moveable feast." Hemingway said that in "Paris is a Moveable Feast". Maybe he was referring to the decade of the XX'th century, but we know that he was referring to that decade of our lives. Were you in Paris in your 20's? Share some of your memories. Enjoy

Richard's first visit

My first visit to Paris was in 1965, when I was travelling with my friend, Larry.

We arrived at the Gare de Lyon from Trieste, (but that's another story) and we went to the Hotel du Pantheon as recommended by Europe on five dollars a day.

We ate several meals at the Foyer des Etudiantes right around the corner because we were making it on five dollars a day.

We met two girls from Hunter College and then rented a Ciroen 2CV and drove to Pampolona for St Fermin's Feast. That was fun and silly. When I look at the map and the distances, I truly marvel at how indestructible we were.
